USA Taekwondo has announced that the U-24 Team Trails (August 21) and Junior National Team Trials (August 22-23) will both use Lajust Electronic Scoring. This decision was based off of the WTF decision to use the same scoring system at events that Team USA will be competing at.
As for the difference between electronic scoring and electronic hogu's, the key word from USA Athletes is "adapt."

Electronic Scoring To Be Used At U-24 Team Trials

I watched the U-24 Team Trials and LaJust was LaJoke. Athletic males were throwing punches and fists (loud thwack sounds) and hurtling to the mats still had a score of zero. On the other hand, an occasional competitor would score like crazy and yet no apparent physical impact on their opponents or sound (deliberately wet socks and pantlegs for connecting sensors?). Lots of contestable head shots and no real criteria as to who they gave the three points or not. What a mess!!! Almost 100 young adult athletes came with good intentions... this was criminal.
